Azdel SuperLite: Coachmen rolls out all-weather sidewalls

May 2008 - Coachmen RV is now using a NEW sidewall design that's always in season.

The Knock on Wood

 The outer layer of recreational vehicle sidewalls have traditionally been designed with wood sheets that are laminated to a fiberglass reinforced plastic exterior skin. The knock on wood is if moisture gets inside your walls. Wood sheets retain water, that over time can lead to issues like rot or mold. While you can't predict the weather, the all-new Azdel SuperLite sidewall sheet provides peace of mind with superior moisture resistance and an ecologically responsible material that can stand the test of time, no matter what season it is.

The Weight Is Over...

Depending on the size and model, an RV constructed with traditional wood panel sheets can absorb and retain over 7 gallons of water - that's more than 60 pounds of added weight.

Even when wood panels dry, they can still retain up to 18% of their moisture. Azdel SuperLite composite is moisture resistant, retaining a negligible amount of moisture, less than 1%.
