Hi Fellow Campers,
Please forgive my tardiness with getting out our newsletter.
Our campout for September was at Shaefer Heard on West Point Lake. We had a storm come through on Friday afternoon but after that the weather was picture perfect. Everyone was on their own for dinner on Friday. However, Saturday night we had a good old fashion cookout with hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken and all the fixings that go along with them. Al Jenkins did all the grilling and he did an excellent job ... thanks Al. John Halley and his grandson Justice went to the Auburn football game on Saturday and took a lot of ribbing from the Georgia fans upon their return due to Auburn’s loss. Saturday night we had a campfire and roasted marshmallows. Brandon Beaudin and Justice Cauley (grandkids) did a great job roasting the marshmallows for everyone. They cooked each one to order just the way each person requested theirs to be cooked. We may have some future chefs in those 2.
Our campout in October will be at Uchee Creek on Ft. Benning. Hey everyone it will be Octoberfest out there so come prepared to really enjoy yourself. Friday night you will be on your own for dinner. Saturday night we will not have a club dinner because everyone decided we would be full from eating all that good food at Octoberfest. Saturday night when we gather for our meeting we will enjoy some birthday cheesecake to cap off what I’m sure will have been a wonderful day. We will also draw names for the Christmas campout too. If you can’t make it for the campout please give Al Jenkins a call 706-569-0633 to let him know so we can put your name in the hat for the gift exchange drawing for our Christmas campout.
See You Camping.

Hi Everyone,
The club had another wonderful campout in August. It was hot but the fellowship we all enjoyed made it worth everything. Of course taking a cool dip into the swimming pool didn’t hurt at all. I think everyone ended up in the pool before the weekend was over. We were also blessed with the chance to watch deer just wander and graze within 20 to 30 feet of our campers. You can’t do that anywhere else that I know of but Uchee Creek. They were truly a site to behold.
We had 2 guests for this campout and hope that John and Jennifer will join us again.
During our club meeting we set the schedule of our campouts for the remaining months of 2007 and they are as follows:
September – R. Shaefer Heard, West Point, GA
October – Uchee Creed, Ft. Benning, GA
November – Bluff Creek, Pittsview, AL
December – Lake Point, Eufaula, AL
For our September campout the club will furnish hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken for the Saturday night meal so everyone bring side dishes to go along with a good old fashion cookout. The dates for the campout will be Friday night September 14th, Saturday the 15th and leaving Sunday the 16th. You will be on your own for the Friday night meal.
Please call as soon as possible for your reservations and request a site between 1 and 10 that way we can all be in the same loop on the water. The telephone number for a reservation is 1-877-444-6777. The address is R. Shaefer Heard Park West Point Lake,
101 Shaefer Heard Park Road, West Point, GA 31833. From Columbus take 185 to the West Point/Pine Mountain exit, turn left towards West Point. Once in West Point take US 29 North for approximately 4 miles then follow the signs into the campground.
Hope to see you there.

Hi Everyone,
July turned out to be a very busy month for everyone and we did not have an official campout. Unfortunately, with summer vacations in full swing that will happen. So, we hope everyone will be up and ready for our August campout at Uchee Creek.
Les will make the reservations for everyone but will be required to pay the first night upfront when the reservations are made. Therefore, if you plan to attend please make sure you get a check/cash for $19.00 to Les Beaudin or Al Jenkins no later than August 8th or you may not be able to get a spot. Don’t forget Uchee Creek is located on the Ft. Benning Reservation and if you do not have a military ID to go through post you will need to turn left onto Highway 165 from 431 South (in Phenix City) and go approximately 7 miles to the back entrance for Ft. Benning. Friday night you will be on your own and Saturday night dinner will be Pot Luck.
If you would like to mail your first night’s reservation money here are the addresses:

Hi Everyone,
Boy it is really hard to believe that our first year as a club is half over. So far it has been GREAT!!!!!
Our June campout was at Pine Mountain Campground and we had 3 units in attendance. Friday night everyone was on their own but we all got together for awhile at the Jenkins’ for some good stories and laughs. Saturday the weather was absolutely wonderful and we all sat around until lunch just enjoying the down time and relaxing. After lunch the weather started getting hot and I think everyone ended up taking a swim to cool off. At 5:30PM we gathered for our evening meal and as always we had more than we could eat. We had several guests at this campout and hope they enjoyed their time with us as much as we enjoyed our time with them. Les and Judy had their daughter Marcie with Brandon and Amy and they were with us for most of Saturday and Sunday. John and Sue had their grandson Justice, and Sue’s sister Daylene and her son Lee to come up for awhile on Saturday. We hope that all of them will visit again. This was probably one of the most relaxing campouts I can remember in a long time. Again, it was great.
Mike and Leona we were sorry to learn of the death of Mike’s Mother and send our heartfelt sympathy. Please let us know if there is anything we can do.
Our next campout will be the 3rd weekend of July. John and Sue will be the Wagon Masters and it will be held at Alabama State Park, Wind Creek. Wind Creek is located at 4325 Alabama Hwy 128, Alexander City, AL 35010 and the phone number is 256-329-0845. If you have never been to Wind Creek it is a very nice campground with all paved sights. It sits on the shores of Lake Martin so bring your fishing gear. Friday night you will on your own but Saturday night it is POT LUCK for supper.
See you camping,
Kay Jenkins

May Newsletter
Hello Everyone,
We did not have a regular club campout in May because of the Georgia State Coachmen Rally. The Rally was held at Sugar Mill in Thomasville, GA.
