Hello Everyone,
We did not have a regular club campout in May because of the Georgia State Coachmen Rally. The Rally was held at Sugar Mill in Thomasville, GA.
The Rally was another success this year and we were very fortunate that the smoke that held off for our campout. On Friday night we were treated to a hot dog dinner with all the trimmings. Everyone enjoyed fellowship afterwards with the campers from other clubs that we only see once or twice a year. There was a Bingo game after dinner also with many testing their luck. Saturday began with a Pancake breakfast and then the GAMES began. This was our first State Rally as a new Club and we did really well! John and Sue Halley experienced their first State Rally and John took home a first place in Washer Toss and second place in Bean Bag Toss. I’d say there was a little bit of beginner’s luck going there. Al Jenkins took third place in Ladder Golf with Judy Beaudin taking first place in 21 or Bust and Kay Jenkins taking second place in 21 or Bust. As usual the Peach State Coachmen Chapter 377 did a wonderful job with the games. Congratulations to everyone! Saturday afternoon we had the Craft sales and the Ice Cream Social. Saturday night we had more Bar-B-Que than we could eat again with all the trimmings. For entertainment we enjoyed some fellow campers sing many of the old Gospel songs you rarely hear anymore. Then it was time for the drawings and prizes to be given out. Thank you to all the State Officers and anyone else involved with getting these prizes. There are always a lot of them and they are always nice to receive. Sunday morning our club hosted the Continental breakfast and afterwards we were blessed with a devotional given by Ernie Wright. It was time to pack up and head home then. As you can see we had a fun filled campout and are already looking forward to next year.
Our June campout will be at Pine Mountain Campground, 8804 Hamilton Road, Hwy 27, Pine Mountain GA 31822. The telephone number is 706-663-4329. If you haven’t made your reservations you need to do it NOW. Friday night everyone will be on their own but remember Saturday night to bring your favorite Italian dishes for our dinner. The dates for June’s campout will be Friday, June 15, Saturday, June 16 and leaving Sunday June 17. Since we did not have our regular May campout we will celebrate the May and June birthdays at this campout.
