New Sportscoach Pathfinder Scores Big

Aug. 16, 2006 - There is a fresh face in the Sportscoach lineup of rear diesel pusher motorhomes. It is called Pathfinder - a coach that combines invigorating style with bold design and innovation. This is a commanding coach, packed with features, that stands out and tells the entire world, "You have arrived," and it has arrived at Mid-State RV Center.

The 2007 Pathfinder is an all-new product line introduced at the Sportscoach dealer meeting in July in Kissimmee, Fla.

Even the casual observer will realize at first glance that the Pathfinder is more than the usual motorhome. Sportscoach gave the exterior caps automotive contours and styling that, when combined with the bold full-body paint designs, make the Pathfinder stand out whether at the campground or on the road. The exterior full paint designs range from the edgy motor sports series - Talladega Red, Bristol Blue, Daytona Yellow and Brickyard Pewter - to the more traditional, like Sahara Sand, Moonshadow Blue, Bordeaux and Diamond Steel.

A panoramic one-piece windshield adds to Pathfinder's sleek looks and complements Sportscoach's exclusive Sight Rite™ dash that angles down, creating a clear view of the road and reducing front blind spots. Sportscoach also located turn signal lights on the side view mirror arms, again giving a new look and improving turn signal visibility.

But Pathfinder is more than just good looks. It has the power and performance that diesel owners want. Built on a Freightliner™ XC chassis, this coach uses a 300 horsepower Cummins diesel engine paired with a five-speed automatic transmission to provide all the power needed for accelerating, merging, hill climbing and passing.

Pathfinder's air suspension and air brakes combined with the 55-degree wheel cut mean enhanced maneuverability. Its 27,910 lb. GVWR allows for huge cargo capacity, and the 5,000 lb. towing hitch accommodates a nice-sized towed vehicle. Another great touch - there are fuel fills on both sides of the coach. No more maneuvering around a filling station's lot to get the fuel fill next to the pump.

Designed for function, the exterior storage is aplenty with pass through storage bays that are easily accessible by the handy side swing storage doors. Pathfinder also boasts a powerful 7.5 kw diesel generator and 1,200 watt inverter as standard equipment.

Inside Pathfinder are more industry leading innovations that are sure to delight RVers. Sportscoach continues to lead the industry with true flat floors in the bedroom. Usually, the bedroom floor in a diesel coach is raised to allow room for the engine. Sportscoach teamed up with chassis builder Freightliner to develop a chassis with the engine below the rails. This gives the coach owner more headroom all of the way around the bed and in front of the wardrobe area.

Step into the cockpit and enjoy the comfort of deluxe leather pilot seats with three-point seat belts. The driver's seat boasts 6-way power controls for the ultimate in driver comfort. Sportscoach designed the dash with comfort and safety in mind. The telescoping tilt steering wheel allows any driver to adjust the wheel to his or her optimum driving position. Cruise control, intermittent wipers, dash air conditioner and in dash back up camera make traveling that much more enjoyable. The power exterior mirrors are easily adjusted from inside the coach and are also heated so they won't frost over in winter. Once at the campsite leveling the coach is a breeze, with the fully automatic hydraulic leveling jacks activated with a simple touch of a button.

Pathfinder pampers its owner with all of the entertainment options a person could ask for. Up front is an innovative 26-inch flat screen LCD TV that flips up and out of the way for travel and easily pulls down to the perfect spot for viewing when parked. Move into the bedroom and you will find a concealed 20-inch flat screen television that swivels out for a perfect viewing angle. The deluxe dash stereo includes a CD player and provides inputs for the optional Sirius Satellite radio. A combo VCR/DVD player is also standard equipment.

A plush residential style sleeper sofa and Euro chair with ottoman provide plenty of seating for you and your guests. All of the interior furnishings and appointments are beautifully color coordinated in one of three interior designs selections that Sportscoach offers. Interior decors for 2007 include Moroccan Sunset, Princeton Patina and Symphony Sand.

Sportscoach designed the galley for utility and modern appeal. The ceramic tile flooring that greets visitors in the entryway is continued throughout the kitchen and bath. Designer cabinetry is available in two color selections - Legacy Glazed Birch and Brazilian Cherry. The designer countertops have a high end solid surface look. For practical matters, the galley includes a 30-inch over-the-range microwave and a range with oven. The refrigerator is a large flush mount model with double doors and black high-gloss inserts. A silverware drawer, upgraded pull out faucet and decorative mirrors add to the galley's luxury appearance.

To gain more storage space in the galley, owners can opt for a 30-inch convection microwave oven and a three-burner cooktop, replacing the traditional oven. An upgraded refrigerator with an ice maker is optional.

Rest is peaceful on the queen-sized bed with the deluxe innerspring mattress. A residential style headboard on the bed adds to the elegance. The generous wardrobe and overhead cabinets offer plenty of storage and the true flat floor improves the head room in the bedroom.

Taking cues from upscale homes the bathroom features a china toilet, spacious shower with glass enclosure, large vanity mirror with designer lights, and premium faucets and hardware.

Another bright touch - Sportscoach designed its exterior utilities center in a dedicated storage compartment. This utilities center features a whole house water filtration system, exterior wash station, and the exclusive Water Works utility panel for simple water functions.
