Melinda Temple will celebrate her birthday on 26 January. We hope she will enjoy her special day. There were no anniversaries for the month of January.
Our December camp out was the 8th and 9th of December at Fair Harbor R.V. Park in Perry. We had a good turn out of 14 member units. It was the coldest week-end of this winter. Several had their water to freeze up in the mornings. The cold did not dampen our spirits tho, we had a wonderful camp out. I think every one had fun. We put up the Christmas tree Friday afternoon and decorated it. A lot of us went to Yoders Restaurant in Montezuma on Friday night and enjoyed an old fashion meal there. A few ventured over to nearby Ft. Vally to view their display of Christmas lights. Other's of us went home and battened down the hatch for the cold night ahead.
On Saturday morning after breakfast, Dale White asked everyone to remain while she retrieved her stuff she needed to help get us all in the Christmas Spirit. When she returned she selected a dozen people and presented the twelve days of Christmas in the most unique way you could imagine. Everyone laughed until our sides were sore. Dale does a super job and we appreciate her. Then you were on your own until 5:30 p.m. when dinner was served. We had the meat and cheese tray furnished by the club, plus dishes that everyone made. What a feast. Every thing was so - o good. I think everyone enjoyed this years party. Walker and Linda Lord came down to see everyone and had dinner with us. We were so happy to see them and glad they were able to come out for a while. Melinda Temple also came for a short while and it was good to see her also. We hope Russ is doing better. We had numerous children and grand children come to the party and yes Santa came also and brightened up the place for a while. His visit was short as he is quite busy this time of the year, but he didn't leave until all the children had a chance to sit on his lap. After Santa's visit, the adults played their gift game, much fun for everyone and some of the gifts were well worn before everything was settled. Another Christmas Party came to an end and it was time to clean up and make our ways home and back to our campers for the night.
On Sunday morning after breakfast Dale White and Shirley Odom sang, Ernie Wright gave a devotion and then it was time to clean up and prepare for the return trip home. This ended the camping year for 2006. It was also the last camp out with Chapter 377 for our three members who are helping to form the new Chapter 363 in the Columbus area.
Just a reminder that our Cub dues are due now, they will be delinquent after January. They are $12.00 and are paid to Robert or Glenda Knighton. Where else can you get 12 months of exciting fun for $12.00?
Our first camp out for the year 2007 will be January 19th and 20th at Amy's R.V. Park in Tifton, Ga. Bob Daily and Mae will be the wagon masters. Friday night you are on your own for dinner. On Saturday night the menu is hot dogs (Bob & Mae), and chili (Glenda), so you need to bring what ever you'd like to compliment the hot dog - chili meal.
