29 January 2007

Greetings Coachmen Campers...
Here it is January and the beginning of another New Year.  We wish each and everyone of you the best in 2007.
We are looking forward to another year of fun campouts and hope each campout will offer memorable times for us.
Birthdays for the month of February include Donna Taylor (12 Feb), Rory Baxley (15 Feb), and Bibb White (25 Feb).
Ray and Shirley Odom celebrate their wedding anniversary on 14 February.
Congratulations to all of you and hope you enjoy your special day.
January 19th and 20th found our club at Amy's R.V. Park in Tifton, Ga.  We had nine member units attend. The weather was cold and windy when we arrived on Friday but it improved as the week-end went along.  On Friday night a lot of us went to Ole Time Country Buffett and the food was excellent.  Others chose to eat in their units etc.
Bob Daily and Mae were the hosts of the rally and as usual done a fine job.  On Saturday morning after breakfast you were on your own until 6:00 o'clock p.m. when supper was served. Some played games in the building, come shopped, and some just chilled out.  Supper consisted of chili and hot dogs and everything that went with it - from chips and dip to desserts of all kinds. One thing this club does well is eat.  There is never a shortage of food.  Ernie and Linda Gaines' son and his family from Tifton joined us for supper.   We were pleased to have them again.  We'll get them recruited sooner or later.  Ha! Everyone ate their fill and then Mark had a short meeting.  The meeting was to get some one to replace Kaye Jenkins as our sunshine person.  Donna Taylor volunteered for the job so that made it easy.  The door prize drawing was won by Linda and Ernie Gaines.  Congratulations to you two.  After the meeting we played another new game called 99.  Everyone had fun playing and it lasted until after 11:00 p.m. which is way past my bedtime but I saw it thru.  I will never live down being the winner, just beginners luck Huh?
On Sunday morning we had the usual big breakfast.  Dale White and Shirley Odom sang, then Ernie Wright gave a devotion.  Then it was time to fold up and get ready for our return trip home.  We cleaned the club house, said our good byes and that brought to an end another week-end of Chapter 377 camping.
Our campout for February will be on the 16th and 17th.  Please call for your Reservation to Twin Oaks R.V. Park, Elko, Ga. Phone # 478-987-9361.  The hosts are Faye & Ernie Wright and Robert & Glenda Knighton.  The menu will be Hobo stew - bring a can of vegetables to go in the stew for the main dish, then bring what ever you would like to go with the stew.  The club will furnish the stew meat to start the stew.  On Friday night you will be on your own for dinner.
Let's continue to remember our members who are unable to camp with us in our prayers each day.  Also
send them a card occasionally or give them a call once in a while.  They are Linda & Walker Lord and Russ and Melinda Temple.
Directions to Twin Oaks R.V. Park is:  Take I-75 to south of Perry, Ga exit 127 or Hwy #26  Go east 1/10 of a mile, the park is on the left.  Hope to see you there.
Wishing all of you safe travels and good health.  hope to see you at Twin Oaks.
