July 31, 2007

Greetings Coachmen Campers...

Well it's July and the weather is hot, it's them dog days of summer -- another month or so and we'll be over it and enjoying fall once again. We just hang in there and look forward to the change in seasons.

Members celebrating birthdays in August are: Robert Knighton (7 Aug), James Wallace (11 Aug), Melba Wallace (16 Aug), Faye Wright (19 Aug) and Fran Drake (25 Aug). Happy Birthday to each of you, enjoy your special day. Kathleen & Mark Baxley celebrate their wedding anniversary on 6 Aug and Betty & Ruben Parden celebrate their wedding anniversary on 9 Aug. Once again congratulations to you all, and we wish you many more.

Our campout in July was at the Scenic Mountain R.V. Park in Milledgeville.

There were nine member units that attended. There would have been ten but James and I got over to Milledgeville, couldn't find the park ended up half way to Dublin turned around and came home. That was a first. About three o'clock on Friday afternoon a storm came up, but after it went over the rest of the week-end was pretty weather. I understand the pool was enjoyed by the swimmers. On Friday night you were on your own for supper. I understand some went over to the restaurant where Ryan Baxley works to sample his cooking. On  Saturday night the pot luck turned out really good (it always does). The ice cream churns cranked up and there was ice cream for dessert.

Sunday morning after breakfast and the devotion it was once again time to say good byes and start preparing for the return trip home. This was the close of another enjoyable camping weekend.

Let's continue to keep Russ and Melinda Temple in our thoughts and prayers.

Our camp out for August will be the 17th and 18the at the Pottery R.V. Park in Commerce, Ga. You do not need to make a reservation, they have been reserved and are the sights right around the pavilion. On Friday night you will be on your own for dinner. On Saturday night we will all eat out (probably at Ryans) unless someone else has a better suggestion. After all the shopping everyone will be too tired to cook. Ha

Remember that August is the month for officers elections for the coming year. So keep that in mind and don't all of you volunteer for the same job.

Directions to Pottery Campground: Travel hiway 441 north to Commerce, Ga. When you get to town, note a Wal Mart on the right, merge to left lane, at the Pottery, turn left and take the road around the pottery to the back and you will be in the campground. Hope to see you there. Wishing all of you safe travels and good health.
