Coachmen Chaparral introduces mid-profile fifth wheels

Coachmen RV - June 30, 2008
MIDDLEBURY, Ind. — Coachmen has redesigned its larger Chaparralfifth wheel floorplans to incorporate a new mid-profile front end, along with a host of other user friendly features. The resulting three-quarter ton towable mid-profile Chaparral is offered in 4 floorplans and available at very competitive prices.
Entering the new Chaparral mid-profile is like stepping into a beautifully decorated home. Stand-alone furniture is featured throughout, providing a more homelike atmosphere that Coachmen designers amplified with raised panel cabinetry, designer window treatments and oil-rubbed bronze hardware. Owners can choose from three different fabric decors and two wood options.
Spacious sliderooms make the Chaparral mid-profile living area roomy and comfortable. Adding to the spacious feeling is an optional skylight in the living area and large windows, including windows in each end of the slideout.
In the process of redesigning the Chaparral mid-profile, Coachmen added two new and innovative floorplans. Each floorplan features three slideouts and purpose-designed layouts. One floorplan is the extremely family friendly,
dual bedroom 299TSB; the other, the 322RLTS, has wide-open living space for couples who like to entertain.
The 299TSB is the right choice for families because it has two separate bedrooms and two bathrooms. In the front is the master bedroom with a queen bed slideout and a large walk-through bathroom. In the rear is the kids' bedroom with a bunk bed slideout and a second bathroom. This bathroom even has an entry door to the outside for those unexpected “emergencies”.
The 322RLTS has an extra-large rear living area and galley that is expanded by double slideouts. A large entertainment center is built into one slideout, featuring 5.1 surround sound and a DVD player. A stand-alone bathroom provides total privacy, and a side aisle gives easy access to the spacious bedroom.
One of the most noticeable changes to the Chaparral mid-profile is the all new fiberglass front cap. The new cap is more aerodynamic to help improve gas mileage and towing performance by reducing wind resistance. Coachmen also engineered notches in the front cap that allow up to a 90-degree turning radius, even with most shorter bed pickup trucks. This makes Chaparral very maneuverable in tight spots at campgrounds and service stations. Coachmen made sure that properly equipped three-quarter ton pickups can tow these fifth wheels.
Another easy touch is the addition of the pin-seeker mirror system on the front, making it easier for a driver to back a truck up and engage the hitch.
Coachmen equipped Chaparral with huge pass through storage, up to 45 cubic feet; and a standard, new exterior bicycle rack that pulls out from under the bumper. It can hold up to four bicycles.
Other features that make Chaparral attractive are the exterior speakers for those who want music when they sit outside and the optional stainless steel portable grill.
Coachmen’s exclusive Water Works™ utility panel allows owners to perform key water functions, such as filling, draining and winterizing, with the turn of a single handle. This is much easier than the panels that require switching multiple valves to accomplish the operation. Another distinguishing feature is the black tank flush that makes for easy cleaning of the Black Water tank after it has been emptied.

Coachmen creates motorhome of tomorrow with Mirada Avant-garde

Coachmen RV - May 2008
MIDDLEBURY, Ind. — When Coachmen RV formed its Advance Design Team in 2007, it gave the group a simple, but clear, mission: design the products of tomorrow through proactive development and implementation of industry changing new product designs and solutions.
The Advanced Design Team is made up of six degreed industrial, mechanical and design engineers from outside the RV industry. They specialize in interior design, interior space utilization and yacht styling characteristics.
The Team's first major project was to redesign the interior of the Mirada™ Avant-garde™ motorhome, starting with a clean sheet of paper and a forward-looking design direction. "The objective was to 'change the game' through a coach with unprecedented styling, practical innovations, thoughtful living amenities, friendly and appealing style lines, unique lighting packages and customer conveniences — all at a competitive entry level motorhome price," said Michael R. Terlep, Coachmen RV Group President. "The team succeeded in developing not only a WOW impression, but a fully integrated design from front to back and top to bottom that is forward-looking and has a new upscale Park Hyatt-type flair."
The Mirada Avant-garde's interior is dominated by sensuous curves rather than the traditional straight lines often seen in the RV industry. It is rich with innovations, starting with the multi-functional curio/storage cabinet located directly to the right of the entrance door on select models. This cabinet provides a hanging closet for your jackets with room for gloves and hats, along with shoe storage. There are also several display shelves for your miscellaneous items.
Halogen lighting throughout the Mirada Avant-garde replaces the traditional “trailer style” pancake lights. Sit at the dinette or the sofa, and you will notice a smart lighting design that makes this coach shine.
The cabinets throughout the coach are a unique design that incorporates above-cabinet storage slots, stainless steel shelf rails, European-styled doors with hidden hinges and user-friendly cabinet hardware.
The living area features a large 26” LCD television (HD ready) that has a viewing angle of nearly 160 degrees. Viewers can easily see the screen from most locations in the coach. The yacht-inspired radius booth dinette also features special clips at the table top that make it easy to take the table up and down. And, rather than a windshield privacy drape like the competition, the Mirada Avant-garde has a full-height privacy curtain located behind the pilot seats so that the curtain can be closed while the coach is in motion.
Stainless steel appliances in the galley give the coach modern appeal, and space saving designs also make this galley very functional. The kitchen faucet folds down, allowing for a totally flush sink cover. This, plus the flush cover on the range, nearly doubles your usable counter space. A convection microwave oven and extensive interior storage complete the galley.
The bathroom has a place for everything, including a robe hook, a hand towel hook, a cup holder and a toilet bowl scrubber and holder. The radius shower provides plenty of elbow room, and the integrated laundry hamper on the Mirada Avant-garde 310 DS keeps dirty clothes out of the way.
The master bedroom has a queen bed with pillow top mattress. Convenient three-shelf nightstands on both sides of the bed (most models), provide plenty of room for alarm clocks, books, tissues and a place to put eyeglasses. The bedroom even has a conveniently located LCD television (HD ready).
On the outside, Mirada Avant-garde has a very exciting look with its custom front and rear caps and the full-body paint options. And, the stamped aluminum bus-style baggage doors give access to huge pass-through storage. Coachmen employs an innovative sidewall design in which a slick fiberglass skin is laminated to Azdel Superlite™ composite substrate rather than wood panels. Azdel Superlite is moisture and rot resistant, and is made from environmentally responsible materials.
Coachmen's Advanced Design Team has packed quite a bit into Mirada Avant-garde, but has managed to keep the price at an affordable manufacturer's suggested retail price starting at $102,893.

Adrenaline's Blast Toy Hauler Is Ideal for Outdoorsmen

Adrenaline RV - April 14, 2008
Click to enlargeFITZGERALD, Ga. — Adrenaline kept the outdoorsman in mind when it created its Blast ® toy hauler. This trailer has all the amenities necessary to make it a great base camp, and it's outfitted to haul ATVs.
The Blast has base weights ranging from 3,400 pounds to 6,570 pounds and lengths from 18 feet to 32 feet. Many SUVs, half-ton pickups and even smaller vehicles can tow the Blast.
What makes the Blast an ideal base camp is that it has everything an outdoorsmen needs. The trailer has a shower, marine toilet, two-burner cooktop, optional microwave oven, refrigerator and furnace. Depending on the floorplan, the Blast can sleep up to eight people comfortably. The linoleum flooring throughout the unit is fuel-resistant and easy to maintain.
While it's a compact trailer, the Blast is surprisingly spacious on the inside. The interior height is 6 feet 9 inches and multiple windows let in plenty of natural light.
Adrenaline paid attention to the details when building the Blast. For instance the floor is insulated for climate control, and the sidewalls are reinforced so owners can customize the interior to their needs.
The Blast offers five different floorplans as well as two option packages. The Power Plus package comes with a 5.5 kw generator, a 30-gallon fuel station with pump, and a spray-away outside shower with a 15-foot coil hose. It also includes a 13,500 BTU air conditioner and a great sound system. The optional Platinum Package gives Blast a unique look with platinum-colored exterior sidewalls with black trim, a black awning and a foam-core infiltration barrier in the sidewalls.
The rear ramp door has coil spring hinges so there are no cables to get in the way while loading equipment. The ramp door can handle up to 1,500 pounds. Each D-ring tie down in the cargo area is rated at 750 pounds to keep ATVs in place while on the road. The ramp area is also lighted for early morning or late evening loading or unloading.
On the exterior, the Blast offers the option of one or two patio awnings for relaxing in comfort. And, if bugs are a problem, the rear screen add-a-wall for the ramp opening allows the ramp to be down, but keeps the unwanted bugs out. Another way Adrenaline appeals to the outdoorsman is to eliminate the exterior graphics. This allows a person to customize the exterior look of the trailer to his or her preferences.
For the outdoorsman who cannot justify a trailer only for hunting, the Blast is a multi-purpose hauler. It's great for loading up during the week with all the equipment and supplies needed at the worksite, and then on the weekends loading the ATVs and enjoying the great outdoors.
For the avid outdoorsman who loves the deep woods, but doesn't necessarily want to give up all the creature comforts, the Blast by Adrenaline is the affordable solution. Blast floorplans begin at $12,930.

Adrenaline's Surge Helps Sport Enthusiasts Indulge Their Passion

Adrenaline RV - March 2008
FITZGERALD, Ga. — Whether it's riding an ATV, a motorcycle, a sand rail, or even a snowmobile, the Surge ™ by Adrenaline ™ is the perfect sport utility trailer to get to the action. The most recent additions to the Surge lineup are a travel trailer capable of hauling a sand rail or dune buggy, and a new fifth wheel floorplan. A three-quarter ton pickup can easily pull either model.
What makes the Surge 27SC (aka 27SKR) travel trailer so appealing is its 16 feet 9 inches of unobstructed cargo space. This is enough room for a sand rail or dune buggy, or for multiple ATVs. This is the ideal trailer for a customer who wants to take friends off-roading on the weekend and still have comfortable living quarters. The 27SC has a single or dual electric track queen bed option and two 74-inch fold up sofas. In the front is a complete kitchen and a full bath with a 40-inch shower. The Surge 27SC trailer can sleep four to six people comfortably.
The Surge 30QB fifth wheel combines 12 feet 6 inches of unobstructed cargo space with very comfortable living quarters. In front it has a private master bedroom with a walk-around queen bed. In the rear is an available single or double electric track queen bed lift. In the living area are two 74-inch fold up sofas. The vehicle is equipped with a complete galley and a full bath with a 40-inch shower. The fifth wheel can comfortably sleep six to eight people.
Both new Surge models have fuel resistant linoleum flooring throughout. As an option, owners can step up to heavy-duty flooring, which is perfect for carrying and storing snowmobiles.
Another feature for these new additions to the Surge lineup is a great sound system with a CD/DVD player. An 800-watt automotive sound system is an option, as is a 19-inch LCD television.
While Surge trailers are luxurious and comfortable on the inside, on the outside they show off their "wow" appeal. Adrenaline builds Surge with three exterior options— white aluminum, smooth fiberglass or platinum colored aluminum with black trim. There are two graphics packages to help customers develop their own look (Red Smoke and Razors Edge Blue).
The non-skid, rear ramp door on these new Surge trailers can support weights up to 2,500 pounds, and the door closes with coil spring hinges which means there are no cables to get in the way. Adrenaline equips the cargo areas of its Surge trailers with several D-ring tie downs, rated at 750 pounds each.
Adrenaline also thought of the extras to make off-road camping easier. Owners can elect to have their Surge toy hauler equipped with a gas generator and fuel station. Plus, a spray away outside shower with a 15-foot coil hose helps wash mud and grime off the toys.
The two new floorplans from Adrenaline will help those sport enthusiasts who want to enjoy their passion and still stand out from the crowd.
