Class A Diesel Motorhome(7)
The Class A motorhome, is also commonly referred to as the conventional motorhome. The Class A is entirely constructed directly on medium-duty truck chassis which include the engine and drivetrain components.
This is the largest type of motor home. It ranges in size from about 13,000 to 30,000 pound gross vehicle weight, from 30 to 40 feet in overall length and about 10 feet high. They are generally a box on wheels with all the comforts of home inside. They are frequently constructed on custom undercarriages or on a three to ten ton truck chassis.
Size: 21 to 40 feet.
Sleeps: Up to 10 people (depending on model)
Features:
* Class A motorhomes are spacious and available with every conceivable luxury found in RVs today including basement storage, washer/dryers, satellite dishes, VCRs, back-up cameras, hydraulic leveling, security systems, and even hot tubs.
* Another feature found on today's Class A motorhomes is the slideout. At the touch of a button, the slideout moves a portion of the RV's exterior wall outward as much as 3 1/2 feet to enlarge the living, dining, sleeping or even kitchen area. When extended, the slideout protrudes beyond the normal outside walls of the RV, like an addition on a conventional home.
* A properly loaded Class A motorhome provides a smooth ride for pleasurable long distance driving. Any experienced driver can take the wheel, and no special license is required.
* The Class A is an ideal vehicle for all-around family travel as the full living quarters, and all systems, are easily accessible and functional the entire time one is traveling. Passengers can enjoy reading, watching TV, snacking, playing video games or napping, and using the bathroom is readily available. Note: Passengers should be seated and secured by seat belts whenever the vehicle is in motion.
* Many RV users tow an automobile on the rear of large RVs to use for short side trips once they've reached their destination.

Fifth Wheel(17)
A Fifth Wheel trailer is a towable RV and is designed to be affixed and towed by a pickup equipped with special hitch in the truck bed. These two-level units can provide the greatest living of all towable RVs.
Fifth-wheel travel trailers come equipped with all the comforts of home, and are perfectly adaptable for weekend getaways, family vacations and fulltiming.
Size: 21 - 40 feet.
Sleeps: Up to eight people (depending on model)
Features:
* As with all towables, the fifth-wheel travel trailer can be detached at your destination, freeing up the towing vehicle for short trips and excursions, running errands or other conventional uses. The unique bi-level dimension of the fifth-wheel travel trailer raises the unit's spacious "master bedroom" over the truck bed, thereby providing more room for family activities in the "living" section of the unit. Many have large picture windows at the rear for panoramic views.
* Two-thirds of all fifth-wheel travel trailers built today offer at least one slideout. At the touch of a button, the slideout moves a portion of the RVs exterior wall outward as much as 3 1/2 feet to enlarge the living, dining, sleeping or even kitchen area. When extended, the slideout protrudes beyond the normal outside walls of the RV, like an addition on a conventional home.
* A fifth-wheel travel trailer requires a properly equipped and compatible full-size pickup or a custom tow vehicle. It is important to match the weight of the trailer to a tow vehicle which has the necessary towing capacity (consult for specifications). New lightweight fifth-wheel travel trailers have recently been introduced, designed light enough to be towed by smaller trucks.

Travel Trailer(50)
A unit designed to be towed by a car, van or pickup by means of a bumper or frame hitch, the travel trailer provides all the comforts of home and is perfectly adaptable for weekend getaways, family vacations, and fulltiming.
These units come in a variety of sizes from a small bedroom on wheels to the equivalent of a class A motor home minus the engine and running gear. They are built close to the ground so the overall height is lower for the same internal height as a motor home. They are 10 to 35 feet in length and must be pulled by a separate tow vehicle. Due to weight of all but the smallest units, the tow vehicle must have a special load distributing hitch and other special devices designed to control the sway of the trailer because the load is all behind the tow vehicle.
Size: 12 - 35 feet.
Sleeps: Up to eight people (depending on model)
Features:
* As with all towables, unit can be detached at your destination, freeing up towing vehicle for short trips and excursions, running errands and other conventional uses.
* Travel trailers are available with all the conveniences of home for sleeping, showering, cooking, dining, and relaxing . Without floorspace needed for the driver's cab, travel trailers offer a wide, flexible variety of floor plans.
* A feature found on many of today's travel trailers is the slideout.
* Today's market offers a large selection of suitable tow vehicles. Travel trailers can be towed by most full-size and many midsize family automobiles, SUVs, vans or other truck-based vehicles (consult for specifications).
* Telescoping travel trailers offer improved fuel economy. They can be lowered to cartop level for travel, eliminating the gasoline consuming wind drag. These units can also be lowered for storage in a garage or carport.
* New lightweight travel trailers have recently been introduced, designed light enough to be towed by most six-cylinder family vehicles. This lightweight version of towable travel trailers retain all the modern conveniences of the traditional vehicles and some even offer special features like the slideout. Typically, lightweight towables are under 26 feet and weigh less than 4,000 pounds.
* As with all towables, unit can be detached at your destination, freeing up towing vehicle for short trips and excursions, running errands and other conventional uses.
