I just wanted to publicly thank Mr. Jack Iversen, who recently answered a technical question I had about flat-towing a Honda Odyssey. He has a 2006 Honda Pilot and he flat-tows it, although he cautioned that Honda is only saying that the CR-V can be flat-towed.

Anyway, a tip of the hat to RV buddy Jack Iversen!

 Larry and Beverly Purtymun of Pinelake, Ga., are the proud owners of not only a gorgeous silver 2006 Lexus RX400H hybrid SUV, but also an Airstream International (Bambi) 19. Despite the hybrid's towing capacity of only 3,500 lbs., don't rule it out as a tow vehicle for some travel trailers, including this lightweight Airstream.

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Jan and Jimmy Scott of Douglas, Ga., who purchased a Keystone Raptor 3712TS fifth wheel toy hauler.

Here you see the gooseneck fifth wheel hitch adapter we mounted on the Scotts' Raptor so they can tow it with their truck, which already had a gooseneck ball in it.

Part of the reason the Scotts chose the Raptor toy hauler is the fact that their sons are both 6'4" tall, and the double beds in the garage of their triple-slide Raptor are about 8' long - plenty long for the boys.

The Scott family is staying in their Raptor while attending livestock shows, where the boys compete. They also have ATVs, so the Raptor is versatile enough for them.

I also would like to thank  Kyle and Tracy Lott of West Green, Ga. The Lotts bought a Coachmen Spirit of America travel trailer from me in February 2007, and referred the Scotts to me.

I recently sold a Coachmen Chaparral Lite 267RLS fifth wheel to Will and Nancy Brewer of Dublin, Ga. We ended up installing a SuperGlide fifth wheel hitch in Will's short-bed Toyota Tundra and it works like a charm. Take a look:

As you can see, the Brewers are going to be enjoying the best of both worlds - they have an outstanding pickup truck, and they can have the luxury of a fifth wheel floor plan in their RV!

Coachmen's innovative ultralight travel trailer, the Captiva, is the subject of Trailer Life magazine's April cover story.
The article is a combination review of the Nissan Pathfinder SUV and the Captiva245DS. It describes the Captiva as having "surprising features in a lightweight trailer."
